About Us

Salt Roads were the original trade routes, moving salt from the sea to inland areas.

The Salt Road Food Hub in Paterson NJ is a shared food manufacturing facility for vegetarian food producers, a community of food entrepreneurs, a brand copacker and a hub for local distribution.

We specialize in vegan/vegetarian and gluten free foods (we can accommodate gluten containing products depending on the product specifics). We are a meat-free facility.

If you are starting a food company, we can help with space, equipment, distribution, and advice on everything from how to set up your company to equipment sourcing, to how to market online.

We have a 10,000 square foot facility with 4,000 square feet of production space, a large walk-in cooler, walk-in freezer and a climate controlled warehouse. Our facility has, in addition to the usual accessories such as sinks and tables, a double rack oven, Hobart mixer, large Robot Coupes, tilt skillets, packing equipment and more.

Vegetable Drying

Walk-in Drying Room for Dehydration

Our food manufacturing facility has a large plant/vegetable dryer you can use to dry vegetables and plants for incorporation in your products. For example, we manufacture kale chips and vegetable crackers of various types, made from dried kale and other produce.

Our dehydrator runs at low temperatures and for extended times so that the plants stay below 120 degrees, preserving enzymes and vital nutrients. We can source and dry/dehydrate in-season and local produce for you, allowing you to more easily add local produce to your product.
